SPHS KNOWLEDGE BOWL TEAMS SWEEP TOP 3 AT MANKATO - Congrats to the Saint Peter High School Knowledge Bowl teams as they swept the top three spots in the team standings at Friday’s meet in Mankato.
The SPHS Caput Mortuum team claimed the top spot, followed by Neon Slate in second and Indigo in third. The other two teams competing, Fuchsia and Magenta, placed 10th and 12th, respectively, out of 33 teams!

This week highlights the essential, proactive, and comprehensive impact of over 131,000 school counselors in supporting students' academic, career, and social/emotional development.

PARAPROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION WEEK - Minnesota’s Department of Education and Saint Peter Public Schools are committed to excellence in education and recognize the important role that paraprofessionals play in ensuring success in our schools. This week (January 19-25) has been designated as Paraprofessional Recognition Week in Minnesota, and we would like to thank this dedicated group for the outstanding work they do in support of our students and staff!

SPHS KNOWLEDGE BOWL TEAMS SHINE AT MANKATO MEET - Saint Peter High School’s Knowledge Bowl program had a successful day at today’s meet (Thursday) at Fitzgerald Middle School in Mankato, with all five teams finishing in the top 15 out of the 32 teams that competed. SPHS science teacher Dr. Chris Harmes is the coach for the Saints' Knowledge Bowl teams.
The SPHS Neon Slate team (Lilian Filand, Sada Harmes, Matthew Timmerman, and Elijah Cherland Narum) led the way with a runner-up finish, while the Indigo team (Micah Stoll, Sam Barnick, John Schueler, Khalid Ibrahim, and Amar Daidzic) placed fourth overall. The SPHS Caput Mortuum team finished in sixth place, while the other SPHS teams that competed placed 13th and 15th overall. This event provided our 9th graders with the opportunity to explore various career fields and occupations. They also participated in some group activities. Here are some photo highlights from Mrs. Hendrickson and Mr. Vander Linden's advisory groups.

* Secretarial/Clerical (4 openings): Including Principal Secretary and Attendance Clerk roles at St. Peter Middle School and North Elementary.
* Student Support Services (5 openings): Roles like School Social Worker, Speech Language Pathologist, and School Nurse.
* Maintenance/Custodial (3 openings): Positions such as Custodial Engineer and Night Housekeeper.
* Support Staff (3 openings): Including Special Education Paraprofessionals and a Community and Family Education Program Assistant.
* Food Service (2 openings): Cook and SUBSTITUTE Cooks/Servers/Dishwashers
* Community Education (2 openings): Lifeguard and Instructor positions.
* Teaching/Education: K-8 Long-Term Adapted Physical Education Teacher (DAPE).
* Other Roles: Language Interpreters, Activity/Event Workers, and Licensed Substitute Teachers.
