St. Peter to host sixth-seed New Prague at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28th
Good luck to the Saints’ varsity girls basketball as they open Section 2AAA play on Tuesday night here at the SPHS gym. The #3-seed Saints (19-6 overall) hosts #6 New Prague (13-13) at 7 p.m. St. Peter, which won its first-ever Big South Conference title over the weekend, defeated New Prague 49-38 back in December.
Tickets for the Saints/Trojans playoff game are $8 for adults and $5 for students, and cash or credit cards will be accepted at the gate. Please note, because this is a postseason game, Saints activities passes are NOT accepted.
The Section 2AAA semifinal round is set for Saturday (March 4) at Gustavus Adolphus College with game times at 6 & 8 p.m.
Shown above, the Saints girls basketball players celebrated teammate Rhyan Holmgren becoming SPHS’s all-time leading scorer. Holmgren eclipsed the previous record of 1,584 points set by Katy Kuiper (2012 SPHS grad) during Saturday's game vs. Marshall at Gustavus. Congrats to Rhyan on this tremendous accomplishment, and the best news is she is still just a juniors and many of her teammates are underclassmen!
