Congrats to the Saint Peter High School Academic Decathlon team for placing third in their division at the Minnesota State Academic Decathlon Tournament, which was held at the Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West in Plymouth on February 25 and 26. The Saints, who also won several individual medals, qualified for the U.S. Academic Decathlon National Competition (Division 5) to be held in Pittsburgh, PA the weekend of April 25-27.

The Academic Decathlon curriculum addresses a number of national content and curriculum standards and tests students of all skill levels in 10 events: economics, math, science, social science, literature, art, music, essay, speech, and interview. Teams consist of nine students, three from each GPA category: honor (3.8-4.00), scholastic (3.20-3.799), and varsity (0.0-3.199), as well as alternates.
