Saint Peter High School Social Justice Club (SJC) put together an educational VIDEO to help the community understand the importance of this holy month in the Muslim culture.
This idea came from the Office of Education Equity Coordinator, Ayan Musse, from her prior work at Prairie Winds Middle school in collaboration with peers from Gustavus and her team at the Saint Peter School District. "We decided to support our high school Social Justice Club students to take part in this initiative and they did a phenomenal job collaborating and creating materials with little support from us." Musse explained. SPPS has a population of over 30% that practice the muslim religion. "Students wanted to help their peers understand what Ramadan is and how it might affect them over the next few weeks."
Additional thanks goes to SPHS teachers Veronica Castillo-Clark, Jennifer Maldonado and Dan Clark who made this idea a reality.
