North students with stick bugs

North Elementary students in several classrooms will have the chance to study stick bugs up close as a local bug enthusiast donated several of them to the school as part of a science project. They were delivered to the school by Mandy Kennedy, North’s social worker.

“Students in Mrs. Koepp’s, Mrs. Guappone’s, Mr. Noble’s, and Mrs. Friedrich’s classrooms have them right now in stick bug habitats they have set up, and Mr. Robinson’s class is in the process of setting up a habitat and will eventually take some of the stick bugs from Mrs. Koepp’s room,” Kennedy said. “I received the stick bugs from a friend of mine, Angie Homer. She is a local daycare provider and a former teacher who lives on a farm and she definitely is a bug enthusiast!”

Above and below are some photos of the bugs being delivered to some of the North classrooms on Tuesday morning!
