NORTH STUDENT COUNCIL DONATES PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT - Members of the North Elementary Student Council recently donated some new playground equipment to the school. The student council raised the funds for the purchase of the new equipment. "Each year, the North Elementary student council votes on and fundraises for a project that enhances the school and provides opportunities for their peers," Alyssa Weller, North Student Council advisor, said. This year, they decided to purchase two tetherball sets for the playground, providing students in grades 2-4 with a new recreational activity. The tetherball sets will be installed between spring and summer this year!"

SOUTH KINDERGARTENERS RECEIVE GIFT OF KINDNESS - Students in Mrs. Wenner's kindergarten class at South Elementary had a special gift delivered to them earlier today (Friday)! Haley Moore, the mother of Flynn Hanson from Mrs. Wenner's class had each student design a hat last fall, and she then knitted each child a hat to match their design. Those students are shown here proudly wearing their new lids earlier today!

NORTH ELEMENTARY ASSEMBLY HIGHLIGHTS - North Elementary students and staff marked the start of the third quarter for 2024-25 with a kick-off assembly at the end of the school day on Friday. Principal Darin Dohery kicked things off by talking about upcoming important dates, while Mr. Lewis led one group of students who presented staff shoutouts for the month while another group talked to their schoolmates about acts of cooperation with which they participated. At the end of the assembly there were awards given out for the Top 5 Contest to the top staff (Mr. Noble) and student (Evan Rothenberger) point getter. That was followed up by the big reveal about the Secret Dress Up Day staff held on Friday in which Mr. Doherty correctly guessed they were wearing either garb from their old high schools or clothing with their alma mater’s school colors. Here are some photo highlights!

Today (Friday, March 21) is observed as World Down Syndrome Day and to commemorate that occasion North Elementary students were fortunate to have 2020 SPHS alum Mason Doherty visit with each class during assigned times this morning at the school's media center. Mason, who has Down Syndrome, is the youngest son of North Elementary Principal Darin Doherty. Mason spoke to the students about his educational journey at Saint Peter Public Schools and Bethel University as well as an update on what he is up to these days . His big sister Aliza was also on hand to help out, and she read the children's book, "We'll Paint the Octopus Red" (written by Stephanie Stuve-Bodeen, illustrated by Pam DeVito) to the students in attendance. Here are some photo highlights from the Mason's visit with North students!
