South paraprofessional becomes US Citizen

Congratulations to South Elementary paraprofessional Zuleika Abdi, who officially became a U.S. Citizen during the Naturalization Ceremony Thursday, Jan. 19 at the St. Paul River Centre in downtown St. Paul. Zuleika is a native of Somalia, who moved to Nashville, Tenn., in October 2016 and eventually to St. Peter in 2021. 

Zuleika was honored by South Elementary students and staff during a special assembly on Friday morning. As part of the event, Zuleika and South Principal Doreen Oelke helped lead the students in the Pledge of Allegiance.
