After four years with the district, Saint Peter Public Schools’ Superintendent Bill Gronseth has accepted a position in another school district and has submitted his resignation. Plans are for him to remain on staff here through Wednesday, July 31. The Saint Peter School Board is expected to accept his resignation at a special meeting set for Friday (July 19).
Dr. Jon Graff, current Saint Peter Middle School Principal, will serve as acting superintendent for a short period of time as the Saint Peter School Board works with the Minnesota School Board Association to identify an interim superintendent.
The district will have an interim superintendent for the 2024-2025 school year and will begin the process this fall to select and hire a new superintendent who can begin in the summer of 2025. The board will be meeting soon to discuss the district’s next steps and a plan of action.
“We are grateful for Mr. Gronseth’s service to District 508,” Charlie Potts, Saint Peter School Board chair, said. “He provided leadership through challenging times and has done important work to help maintain the district’s strong reputation.”
More details on the upcoming search will be released as they become available.
