Early Childhood Screening update

The St. Peter Early Childhood Center will be holding Early Childhood Screening from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

If you have a child who was born on or before 10/6/2019 who has not yet participated in Early Childhood Screening please call the Early Childhood office at 507-934-4211, ext. 2017 or 2018, to schedule an appointment.

The State of Minnesota requires that all children be screened prior to entering Kindergarten.  Screening takes approximately 1-1.5 hours to complete and is a free check of your child's vision, hearing, height, weight, and development, as well as a review of their immunization records. Children are screened by licensed teachers, health professionals, and trained volunteers. Your child will be assessed in three important developmental areas: 1) motor skills, 2) concepts, and 3) communication skills. The purpose of screening is early detection of children's development, health, and other factors that may interfere with a child's learning, growth, and development.

If you are unable to attend this screening our next screening will be scheduled for October 2023.
