Food Service

Starting the 2023-2024, St. Peter Public Schools will be part of Minnesota’s Free School Meals Program. This program allows students to get one breakfast and one lunch free of charge each day at school. Items such as additional entree servings will be available to purchase. Although no application is required to receive this free meal benefit, filling out the Application for Educational Benefits is still important!

Your child(ren) may qualify for other benefits like reduced fees at school. Your application may also help the school qualify for education funds, discounts, and other meal programs. State and Federal programs use school district Free and Reduced meal percentages to determine the amount of Compensatory Revenue, technology funding, and Title I funding St. Peter Schools will receive. This same data is used by the Minnesota State High School League to determine activity/athletic class placement.

With this change, we are encouraging all families to fill out an application for Free and Reduced meals as soon as possible for the 2023-2024 school year. The application for this program (Application for Educational Benefits) is kept entirely confidential. Applications are included in this mailing and are also available on the district website, Infinite Campus Parent Portal, school offices, and back to school conferences.

Completed applications may be returned to any school office, placed in the confidential locked drop box in the District Office entrance (Broadway entrance-Door V), or mailed to St. Peter Schools, 100 Lincoln Dr. St. Peter, MN 56082. If you have any questions about this application, please contact us at 507 934-5703 ext. 5094 or email Tiffany Skramstad
